Vesper Marine has added alarms for anchor watch, man overboard (MOB) and more to its XB-8000 Class B AIS. The XB-8000 is an AIS platform with upgrade ability, and the most recent update makes it the first AIS transponder that ­allows users to connect an external ­buzzer, enabling an audible alarm triggered by an activated MOB device, search and rescue transponder (SART), or emergency position indicating radio beacon (EPIRB). New units include the upgrade.
