We trailer our 20-foot center-console to a public ramp, and never know for sure which side we’re going to tie up to. With this custom system, even my 6-year-old daughter can move the bumpers from one side of the boat to the other in a matter of seconds. Simply cut a 1-inch PVC pipe into 1-foot lengths. Drill a hole in an end cap, push the bumper rope through, and knot it. Cement the cap to the pipe, and you are done. The pipe slips nicely into any rod holder along the gunwale.
