Because weights can be cumbersome, I would often limit what I brought along on fishing trips. This would sometimes end up with my not being prepared for the conditions. I made a container that solved all my problems using an old pool-chemical pail that has a locking lid. I bought trays designed to fit inside a spackle bucket at Home Depot for only a couple of dollars each. I lined each section of the trays with a piece of rubber mat to cushion the bottom of the trays against breakage and protect them during the pounding they take in the boat. Each divider is clearly marked so I can easily see what size weight I need to restock after a trip. It is all waterproof and can easily be washed out.
