When I fish on noisy beaches, it’s hard for me to hear the sound of the spool on my baitrunner reel spinning unless I’m right next to my rig. To get around this problem I painted bright stripes on the spool body (I used red automotive paint), so now I can see the spool spinning from greater distances. Works great when fishing multiple rigs, where it’s legal. Glow-in-the-dark stripes work well at night, too.
