For a better way to hold onto eels when striper fishing, I made a gripping tool from ice tongs and Scotch-Brite pads. Cut two 1 1/2- by two-inch sections of the Scotch-Brite material and glue them to the inside of the ice tong clamps with contact cement. It’s a sure grip even with the most slippery eels.
