The recreational season for snook in Atlantic state and federal waters closes on June 1. Snook will reopen in Atlantic federal, state and inland waters, including Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River, on Sept. 1. Snook must not be less than 28 inches total length (TL) or more than 32 inches, with a bag limit of one fish. Snook remains closed for take in Gulf of Mexico state waters, including Everglades National Park and Monroe County. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will decide at its June meeting in Lakeland whether to allow Gulf snook to reopen Sept. 1. Snook fishing across the state is open for catch and release fishing, as usual.
