Confluence Films to Produce Waypoints Film

Waypoints will be a multisegment collection of individual stories shot around the globe in both fresh and salt water.

Confluence Films officially announced that it has begun production on its fourth feature-length film. The current project of Confluence, creator of Drift, Rise and Connect, titled Waypoints, will be a multisegment collection of individual stories shot around the globe in both fresh and salt water.

Saltwater enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the production for Waypoints began on an uninhabited atoll that lies approximately 350 miles north of the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Few have fished this atoll, known as St. Brandon’s, but those who have say the fishing is nothing short of amazing and that the waters are rich with good-size bonefish, giant trevally and Indo-Pacific permit.

Just like Drift, Rise and Connect, this project is a collaboration between cinematographer Chris Patterson of Warren Miller Entertainment and executive producer/writer Jim Klug of Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures. Waypoints will feature an all-star cast of anglers including Dan “Rooster” Leavens, Oliver White, Chris Yrazabal, Greg Bricker, Brett Seng, Jeff Currier, Travis Peterson and the guides of FlyCastaway of South Africa. The release date for the film is scheduled for the fall of 2013 with a tentative world premiere date set for Friday, Nov. 1, 2013.
