To break off snags when fishing with superbraid, I made this tool from a piece of one-inch diameter PVC pipe. I drilled two 1/8-inch holes all the way through the pipe and used a hacksaw to cut slots at a 45-degree angle to the hole. Now I run the line through the slots, twist the line around the pipe a couple of times and I’ve got a safe object to pull on to break off the snag.
