Pull on the tag end to pull the overhand knot closer to the hook to create the desired size loop. Then wrap the tag end around the standing line 5 or 6 times and bring it back through the overhand knot.Joe Mahler/joemahler.com
Wet the knot and cinch it down slowly, making sure to maintain the size of the loop you want. The loop will collapse under pressure if you’re not careful. Practice will enable you to create the perfect-size loop each time. Trim the tag end.Joe Mahler/joemahler.com
