I troll for school tuna with daisy chains of small lures, such as hexheads and Tuna Clones. The rigs work best when fished straight from the rod tip, but I find the swivel causes a lot of unwanted disturbance ahead of the chain. To solve this problem, I slide a lure onto the main line before I tie on the swivel. This lure becomes the first in my daisy chain and rests on the swivel, hiding it. The shorter leader is an added benefit, because it makes the fish easier to handle at boatside.
