Garmin’s GPS 152 is a fixed-mount, 12-parallel-channel GPS receiver that is compatible with the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS). The WAAS capability improves the accuracy of the positioning system to about three meters, according to the manufacturer. Loaded with a database of navigation aids and tide data, the 152’s full megabyte of built-in memory stores 500 waypoints and 20 routes, and is compatible with a MapSource CD. Housed in a waterproof case, the unit has a 4″diagonal, high-contrast display and a simple keypad; comes with a mount, cover and power data cable; and sells for $364.27 with the internal antenna and $388.56 with the external antenna.
