From the time Reggie Fountain entered his first boat races at age 14, other racers learned to follow him, humbly. Today, Iconic Marine Group proudly follows his innovative example, producing Fountain bluewater fishing boats on the racing hull he designed.

Anglers benefit: Those hulls are known as fast, and at sea, fearless. Seventy percent of our survey respondents, after all, rate a safe and comfortable ride their first criterion in boat shopping.

Fountain accomplishes that with an exclusive double-step Positive Lift Hull design, introduced by Reggie in the early 1990s, and still providing increased acceleration, improved handling and cornering, and reduced fuel consumption.

Give partial credit too to how that hull is built: a bonded three-piece (hull, liner, deck), no-wood no-rot crafting of composite and fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) stringer, composite-cored hullside and deck, and fiberglass inner liner.

Put it together and it’s fast, the way racer Reggie Fountain designed it decades ago. And fishy, the way offshore center-console anglers know and love it today.

Fountain 34CC
The smaller of Fountain’s Bluewater Series, this center-console will, like its big brother 38CC, speed you comfortably to the fishing hot spots and back regardless of sea conditions.

The carbon-panel dash supports Mercury’s Vessel View 702 display plus a pair of 16-inch displays, which is beyond the single-screen displays that 88 percent of respondents currently own. With the standard fiberglass T-top and its powder-coated frame, the console boasts seven rod holders, plus a head with holding tank, sink and shower.

Bow seating tops storage compartments. The helm seat includes a flip-up bolster with rear-facing seat. There’s rod and gaff storage beneath gunwales.

Four fish boxes feature overboard drainage, and two transom livewells meet or exceed the requests of 93 percent of offshore angling survey respondents. The eight gunwale-mounted rod holders top the demands of 89 percent of respondents.

Lighting abounds: a remote control spotlight atop the T-top, RGB underwater lights, and LED navigation and cockpit courtesy lights. Sounds? Fire up the 800-watt six-speaker audio system.

Options — some of particular interest to anglers — include additional rod holders, outriggers, tackle center, and electric-reel outlets.
