Yamaha’s patented jet-drive system uses an internal impeller rather than external propeller, enabling shallow-water operation, enhanced maneuverability, reduced maintenance, and the safety and convenience of no lower unit or prop.
Also exclusive to Yamaha boats are patented clean-out ports for easy removal of debris caught in the jet pump to keep it running smoothly.
Yamaha’s award-winning Connext helm control system and the touchscreen display allow boating anglers to control the entertainment features, the DRiVE system, GPS mapping, and other boat functions.
Yamaha 255 FSH Sport H
The supercharged Yamaha 255 FSH Sport H—the fishing-focused member of the company’s flagship 252 and 255 series of 25-foot center consoles—has an exclusive Helm Master EX, providing precise slow-speed maneuverability with its twin jet engines.
With this industry first, you can move the joystick and the boat responds instantly—forward, reverse, laterally and rotationally.
The E-Series electronic throttle control, meanwhile, features push-button start and stop, rpm engine sync, and single-throttle pairing. Like others in the Yamaha 255 FSH series, the H model’s twin four-cylinder, four-stroke 1.8L engines are supercharged and intercooled.
These Yamaha boats also feature open transoms, their low-profile jet drives taking the place of typical outboard engines. That translates into Yamaha’s signature swim platform with beverage holders, backrest cushions, and access to the company’s exclusive pump clean-out ports.
Angling features of the 255 FSH Sport H include an insulated bow fish box, a transparent 18-gallon livewell, a 30-gallon transom livewell, and upholstered coaming pads, as well as console, gunwale and hardtop storage for a combined 25 rods.
Doubt the boat’s fishing prowess? Check out the pass-throughs in the hardtop to accommodate longer rods stored in console holders. That’s just one example.
Here’s another example: That hardtop is ready for outriggers, and it comes standard with a glass windshield, spreader LED lights, and integrated stereo speakers.
The bow has snap-in cushions, storage bins, console front seat, jump seats, and snap-in teak-style marine mat for the deck. A custom leaning post provides seating and standing options for two crewmembers.
Editor’s Note
Not only will Yamaha’s Helm Master EX joystick system help captains when docking this jet boat in challenging conditions, but it will also assist boating anglers in making delicate maneuvers with ease when fighting a rampaging fish. -Alan Jones
