Tiara Yachts recently introduced a fishing module and other equipment options to lend its outboard-powered Luxury Sport and Luxury Express series boats a higher level of sport-fishing functionality.
“We’ve always been a cruising company,” Tiara Design Principal Gabe Rose says. “We’ve had an open-style product for decades that you could cruise and dayboat on, and now one that you can fish on.”
The fishing module, which replaces select facets of standard aft seating, includes rod holders and other amenities, and buyers can also add optional fish-focused accessories to enhance the standard hardtop.
Tiara Yachts 48 LS
The spacious Tiara 48 LS offers yacht aesthetics, plus the option of a strong fishing focus with a new fishing module and other features. The aft cockpit can be customized with either a Lounge or Adventure (Fishing) module. A U-shaped lounge faces aft; with the Lounge module, another seating unit on a novel turntable revolves to create an expanded entertainment space. With the Fishing module, there’s a 30-gallon transom livewell, four aft rod holders, three gunwale rod/drink holders, and a work surface with sink and cutting board. Twin in-floor insulated storage or fish boxes with macerators come standard.
The molded full-beam fiberglass hardtop features tempered-glass skylights; a retractable screen with shade covers them when desired. The hardtop also houses a fold-down cockpit TV.
Electrically activated sliding glass doors flank the helm station, and a roller bulkhead stored within the hardtop can deploy to complete weatherproofing or to create distinct social zones. The helm area and midcockpit are cooled by a 24,000 Btu Dometic air conditioner, and a midcockpit galley features an electric grill, refrigerators, a freezer, and storage.
The spacious bow area sports wraparound seating and a three-place lounge with electrically activated footrest and adjustable armrests. Below, the cabin houses a forward stateroom with queen berth and a midcabin stateroom with port and starboard berths. The head features a stand-up shower, VacuFlush toilet, and vanity.
The standard trio of Mercury 600 hp Verado V-12 outboards with contra-rotating props, combined with Tiara’s integrated electronics package and Garmin marine navigation, produces a sound-dampened, ultimate driving experience.
