Each new Scout hull design, across more than 35 years, is the result of in-house research and design teams working closely with engineering staff to take concepts efficiently from computer-aided design to production. The result is a line of luxury sport-fishing center-console, dual-console, and bay-boat models ranging from 17 to 67 feet in length.
Scout models from 37 feet and up use Scout’s revolutionary Epoxy-Infused Carbon Hybrid technology, teaming epoxy with carbon fiber and E-glass to create a boat that’s lighter than traditional construction and stiffness that’s five times greater.
Scout 400 LXF LI-ION
The new Scout 400 LXF LI-ION—an alternative version to Scout’s current 400 LXF—boasts a 48-volt lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) battery management system that, charged by the powerful twin Mercury 600 hp V-12 Verado outboards, dispenses with a generator.
Anglers will appreciate the 400 LXF’s 10 stainless-steel gunwale-mounted rod holders, electronically actuated articulating hardtop rocket launchers, twin 33-gallon livewells, and 92 gallons of fish-box storage.
Other standard appointments include heated helm seats, Garmin screens enclosed in glass bezels, 360-degree bolster cushions, and powder-coated hardtop frame with curved-glass enclosure.
A Seakeeper 4.5 gyrostabilizer is standard, and you can upgrade to a Seakeeper 6. Also standard are bow seating, LED-lighted storage boxes, and forward console sun deck.
Tall anglers will appreciate the 6-foot-5-inch convertible queen berth and 6-foot-4-inch standing room in the cabin, which also boasts air conditioning, a 32-inch TV, enclosed shower and head, and vertical storage for six rods. At rest, the standard hydraulic portside beach platform topped with synthetic teak further comes into play.
Fishing-friendly options include a convertible leaning post with a Kenyon grill, sink and cutting board; Release Marine free-standing rocket launchers; and hardtop-mounted Taco outriggers.
Add electric-reel prerigging or choose hardtop solar panels. Your other selections might include underwater lights, half-tower with upper station, or Scout’s novel and patent-pending electronically deployed hideaway entertainment station/mezzanine seating, which includes a bait station.
