The 3800 Express is Pursuit’s largest boat to date, and it combines serious fishing features with plush belowdecks accommodations. The cockpit features coaming bolsters and a standard transom door. There’s a passenger seat that folds up into the transom, plus a large fishbox.
At the forward end of the cockpit sits a full tackle center with a rigging area and a live well with a viewing port. To starboard, an aft-facing seat lets you monitor baits in comfort. The bridgedeck has a helm seat that moves fore and aft electrically, and a large L-shaped lounge seat to port holds more passengers. The helm itself tilts aft for easy wiring access, and a huge wraparound windshield offers protection without sacrificing visibility.
The cabin has a double berth forward, with a large galley to starboard and the head to port. Burnished wood abounds below, with teak and holly flooring, and teak-veneered bulkheads. A 6′ 4″ Pullman berth provides additional sleeping capacity. There’s plenty of storage space too, including an upscale, vertical rod locker in the cabin. Standard power is twin 450-hp Cummins diesels, with optional 485-hp Volvo Penta diesels available. Pursuit Boats, Ft. Pierce, FL; (561) 465-6006; www.pursuitboats.com.
