Imitator patterns produce best.North Carolina – Fish primarily from beaches in December and January, looking for bait. Imitator patterns are used most often. San Francisco – Fish available year-round due to consistent water temperature, but largest fish found October to May when water is coolest. You’ll need a large fly that makes a commotion under water.
