I’m back!! Sorry for the lack of current reports, I was posting them but did not realize that my account had to be reauthorized every year. After 2 hurricanes, a trip to Colorado & Utah to guide for a couple of the summer months, and never-ending high water, I think we might have made the turn for normalcy to the Lower Laguna Madre soon. Blind casting with spoon, plastics, topwaters, and appropriate flies has been fairly consistent. Water levels and clarity has been a mess but is on the mend. There has only been a very limited few areas to find tailers and sight fishing has been very tough. But, about 4 days ago I was out on a short expedition to test the waters, I finally had some excellent sight fishing on fly. Got about 7 reds, with several about 8 lbs. in about 2.5 hours. Saw several fish well over 10 lbs. which is a big fish down here in the Laguna system. Look for some improving reports as fall proceeds.
